I wanted to comment on the Amax vs Emplant issue.
Having almost the same setup as you, A4000, A2091, Emplant, etc.. . .
. I don't think that the Emplant SCSI is going to every be that much
"more" than a 2091 as far as speed goes. From what I've been able to
find out, the Emplant SCSI was never intended or planned on being a
high performance or SCSI-II controller. I'm not sure what you are
hoping to get out of the SCSI device but I think that you'd probably
be better off with something like the FastLane or the new GVP SCSI
card and making the Mac go through the "Amiga side". That would give
you the Mac emulation and the high performance SCSI on the Amiga side
that I assume you're looking for.
