If you do your work, stick it on a couple of removable disks (Syquest, whatever) and FedEx it to your client, one can still have it work. That's how my husband works and how I work. He does video capture programming and I do colorist work (comics, trading cards, etc.). The files both of us create can be rather huge, but there are ways within the current technology to get around that without a whole lot of trouble.
