Thank you for the reply Larry; however, after making the various setting changes 3ds4 will still not render in the background on this computer. I wonder if it is the graphics board that I use? The config.sys shown in the .zip file doesn't work for my cirrus chip 543x based graphics board. Does your machine render in the background, and if so what graphics board do you use? I didn't quite understand the following recommended setting: Dos_shell=C:\4dos\4dos.com c:\4dos @d:\3ds3\4dos.ini should I substitute my C:\dos6\dosshell.ini for "4dos.ini", and command.com for "4dos.com"? -Peter Landeck
