>> "On keeping with the theme of " Why I have to know all the CAD programs and
why the Software companies in order to protect their dealers make it impossible
to learn without buying": <<
A: You do not have to Know _ALL_ the CAD Programs. This is an unrealistic
statement. It's not possible….no one person can "Know _ALL_ CAD programs"
The best anyone can go for is picking a particular disicpline/vertical market,
and go with it.
Do you just want someone to pay you for learning software packages or do you
have any real work planned?
B:>> why the Software companies in order to protect their dealers make it
impossible to learn without buying": <<
This statement is not only FALSE but insulting. AutoDESK as well as other
software companies provides extreemly good discounts to Students in order that
they may do exactly what _You_ claim they do not do.
Both 3D Studio and AutoCAD are available at very low cost to students.
I don't have the exact numbers ( you may call autodesk at 1-800-879-4233 ) but
the cost of AutoCAD Lists at $3750.00 while any full time student may purchase
a copy for below $500. to $250. depending on the version #!!!
How you think this is protecting dealers is beyond me!!!
I personally know of several so called "Students" that signed up for AutoCAD
classes at their local Technical College so they could get student pricing only
so that they could obtain the Software for their Personal Businesses "usually
being run out of their homes". I don't have a problem with this as these
people knew how to "work the system".
Plus if they become successful they usually remember the "Advantage" provided
them by Autodesk and when their businesses take off they get additional copies
through a local Dealership.
I can site you several examples of this exact situation.
One guy even had to learn Autocad while his wife was delivering his first baby
and he was fighting Cancer and on Chemotherapy.
Know what! he didn't complain one bit about paying student prices for AutoCAD!
His, Baby is healthy and happy and his cancer is in remission.
Count your blessings Joe!
As far as making it impossible to learn without buying….WELLLLLLL How the
hell did you learn to drive a car???????
>> A recent quote from an advertisement in today's paper: "Candidate will have
extensive knowledge with Mini-CAD." <<
This is Laughable!!!! I can't beleave your pissed at Somebody else for your
own lack of knowledge!!!! HOW do you think the rest of us LEARNED these
programs….The Software Fairy didn't just drop in on us with basket of
goodies..Geezzzz Get a Clue!! <g>
>> Before the introduction of CAD systems this job
would have been open to anyone with drafting experience. <<
Gimme a Break Joe….are you really this thick?
>> Are you any good at problem solving,
or do you solve problems by insisting that they don't exist? <<
You have a problem here Joe but I don't think it has anything to do with this
forum or AutoDESK. <g>
