Larry,
No guarantees it will work, but try the program SFMT.ARC in LIB 14,
it will tell the SCSI drive to do a low level format and map out bad blocks
as it finds them.
Some drives will support this…and some won't. Just make sure you
have a good backup of the drive before you try this.
Don't be surprised if it takes 30 or 40 minutes to work, depending
on the size of the drive and the way the manufacturer implemented the low
level format command.
BTW, if you wish, the entire drive can be FFS but to do that you
must not PREP the drive….simply create a mountlist entry for it and mount
it.
