[ continuation ] system in which to make it profane (to them). As the contract holder for the AmigaForums, where would I draw the line? As others have noted, it's a very tough call. I basically go with George Carlin's "7 Words You Can't Say on Television". While rough or profane language may be offensive to many, this type of language is in general use in everyday US society. While someone may be offended by it, it is heard on a constant basis and the person should have built up a tolerance for it. The "7 Words", on the otherhand, are used strictly to evoke a response, usually shock, intimidation, or cause (mental) discomfort. These words are usually not used in polite conversation. These words are generally found offensive by the majority of people. In forums like the AmigaForums, whose charter is the discussion of a specific area of interest, the usage of these words are not, in my opinion, needed or wanted (unless the forum in question is HSX where those words _may_ be acceptable in the context in which they are used). Okay, enough of trying to explain the general situation while walking a tightrope so as not to offend anyone. How do I play language censor? In 99.99% of the cases, I don't. If one user were to launch a (verbally) offensive attack against someone else, I'd move the message out of the public area, but the intended receipient (victim?) would still received the message. Should someone leave a message directed at no one in particular which contained nothing more than a rambling recitation of (what some would consider) obscenities, I'd delete the message. -sja
