You may be right to some extent. But I have yet to run into a project that has needed more than 256 materials. It has never possed a problem. Most of the time if I need to change the color of a specific model, which shares say "red", with another model, I just isolate the model and the faces with "red" and assign, "green" to those faces. I am used to doing this so in most cased I can do it as fast as changing the material in the materials editor, and it means that "red" is "red" and I don't need to create 10 materials with virtually the same value. It also means that if I see that "red" is exceeding the NTSC safe range, I can tone down all of the "red" in the scene without having to change 10 materials. I can see your point though, especially with clip models. Andrew McClary Graphic Alchemy Productions
