Following these instructions should allow you to play flics under 3DS with your Viper: When you configure 3DS, make sure that you answer NO to the question of whether or not your computer has a VGA/SVGA board. Before running 3DS, run VPRMODE VESA to load the VESA tsr. 3DS does its flics playback direct to the hardware through VESA support, not through the adi driver. Thats about it.
