Gayle, I set COM4 to IRQ 5 and it works just fine for any program that allows you to set the serial port to such, in this case CIS Manager. Please don't shoot the cats. Just acknowledge that they own the whole of your household and you'll get along just fine. When they put their butts in front of your face (when you are looking at the monitor), just push to one side or the other. They'll get the idea fairly quickly.
