The matte will handle compositing the image, true, but the keyer in your switcher is an analog device, and depending on how clean a key it'll do, you can get some edge showing through. I just try to be safe, it really shouldn't matter if the video you're using as a bg is relatively busy, but if it was a cloudless blue sky for example, I'd render with blue bg that was as close as possible to that color. m.
