Yes, I think I have a softkick machine, as it was originally configured
that way. Kickstart was actually a file in the Devs: directory.
I did not get packing material with my 3.1 upgrade listing versions. I was
only aware of an A3000 version, as opposed to an A2000 or A4000 version. I
will check with Expert Services on that.
Right now I am running 3.1 fine (without any SetPatches), so I tend to
think the ROMS are installed properly. At least, the system thinks they
are!
My machine has 2 sets of ROM sockets. One was where the old ROMs were, the
other is right beside it and are just pads (no sockets). Both sets are
labled ROM0 and ROM1, so I just placed the new ROMS where the old ones
were.
