Harold,
Have you watched Commodre for very long? I've been watching them
constantly for more than ten years now. Every one of those years I have
read messages, articles, etc – and listened to speeches, conversations,
etc. – saying that if Commodore did not do this or that specific thing,
they would not be able to stay in business another year. But they HAVE
stayed. They are a stable company. They have to be doing something right,
else they would not still be here.
Now – we are not privy to all of the things going on at Commodore. They
used to tell us everything they even thought they might do, and the users
all expounded on the problems of dealing with premature announcements,
products that never made it to market at all, late releases, and so on and
on and on. Now, they tell us nothing and have all of their developers
under extremely tight non-disclosure agreements to prevent all those
premature announcements – and the users are expounding on the fact that
Commodore is not making plans, not developing anything new, etc.
Does it seem to you – as it does to me – that they cannot please us no
matter WHAT they do? I strongly suspect that they are very busy creating a
machine for the future that we will just love, and for which we will pay
rather handsome amounts of our money. It's just that they will announce
them on their own schedule.
