Sure. Don't mess with the switches on the Targa+, use the defaults.
Install your TARGAP.SYS driver in Config.sys, probably at the defaults, but
add 'mD'. The line should look like this, assuming your driver's in the
C:\TARGAP directory:
DEVICE=TARGAP.SYS mD
Now the setup as a Targa 32. You want these 2 statements either in your
Autoexec.bat file, or whatever batch you use to start 3D Studio.
SET TARGA=247
SET TARGASET=T32P240E
These set memory address to D000 (away from the VGA), and 480 lines,
overscan mode. Make sure any expanded memory manager, such as QEMM, leave
the address D000-DFFF alone (QEMM, add the line X=D000-DFFF). Also don't
forget the SET RDPADI=C:\3DS\DRIVERS\RDPTARGA.EXP.
Run the program to initialize in the Targa 32-compatible mode:
TPLUSINI T32.INI
Now, start 3DS.
Ok, now that I've told you all that, just download the Targa+ 3DS driver
(TGAPLS.ZIP) from the Drivers directory on this forum (what, section 5?)
and unZIP. substitute the line SET TARGA=C:\3DS\DRIVERS\RDPTARGP.EXP, omit
the TPLUSINI instruction (you need to be in native Targa+ mode). You can
also skip the other SET TARGAs, etc. or leave them. Use TMODE to set the
resolution and color depth you want. Hooray!
