First off Timothy, cool off. Andy Finkel is not the one to blow any steam at. He is a software-engineer who is taking his time to be a part of CIS, please don't run him with the hostilities that your message carries. That being said. I of course disagree. You can't compare the price of an orange to that of an apple. The IBM compatible technology right now is extremely cut-throat. Computer dealers are going out of business in the clone market because of the mail order situation and the availability of really inexpensive parts. While at least the Amiga dealership I work at is having its best year yet. The PowerUp programs and the Video Toaster has finally made the Amiga "profitable" to the dealer. I watched three local PC clone shops lock their doors for good. Since Commodore does not use that Intel technology (yeah!) they really can't compete with the pricing structure. That is no fault of Commodore's. If they ever did decide to abandon that thinking (which I am sure they wont) I will leave Amigas and probably buy a NeXT.. Sigh, what a dark day that would be. I do not consider a 33MHZ 80386 to be in any way shape or form equal to the A3000. After all is AmigaDOS available on a PC? Is a workable nice multitasking solution available for the PC standard? Don't blow Windows by me because the last thing it is is "nice". As far as hard disk performance goes, I say lets see your numbers. I dare say that the A3000 disk performance is much superior than that of any PC clone. The video card does thing you quoted is not useful for video at all, so I miss the point here. The list of things the Amiga can do that the PC doesn't is long… do you really want it? -mark= – via the Whapster!
