I'd like to butt in here with the opposite view. I think the documentation of the API is totally inadequate. The ability to make API calls is essential to the ability to create decent programs with VB (as demonstrated by the heavy use of API calls in the sample programs on the VB disks), and their use should be as well documented as that of any of VB's native commands. At the very least, the VB package should include the Windows Programming Reference from the Quick-C for Windows package. However, what's really needed is a completly new approach to describing and documenting the API calls, one that is aimed at BASIC programmers rather than experienced C programmers. With access to the API, one can create remarkable applications with VB. But the basic VB package doesn't include information to even get you started. There are 2 Replies.
