Kamron…
I'm not sure I understand where you're headed with your question…
There are certainly considerable differences among polished stone surfaces; and
I tend to "study" the surface of rocks anywhere I go (g). Be it the beach,
stream beds, alluvial fans, chapparal (gravity tumbled surfaces?). There are
surfaces that "face" naturally because a stone fractures on crystal planes or
fractures concoidally (agate, jasper, opal). Jade takes a moderately nice
"natural" polish because it is both hard and "tough" (intertwined molecular
structure as opposed to crystaline).
What kind of differences are you refering to?
