David, no doubt that a CDROM system with some ram capability (CDROMRAM, or as Ben would put it CDSAMRAMROM 🙂 would be more desirable than the pure CD-ROM (CDTV, CD-I) of today, but I disagree that they will 'dissapate into fad-dom'. I see CD-I/CDTV as being essential in education, home reference, business training, etc, even w/o any 'ram' capability. I think it is the wave of the 90's; ram capability (if afforadable) will only drive the wave higher. BTW, whatever happened to the CDTV 'personal' memory card? 1meg on a data card for slipping into a CDTV slot. I would have thought it would have been very useful in some titles? Just out of curiosity, I (and others) keep saying 'CD-I/CDTV'…. I wonder if one went over to the CDI forum, multimedia forum, etc if you would even *see* CDTV mentioned in the same breath as CD-I?
