Your experience parallels what I learned about the Compton's in CD-ROM
Professional (Vol. 4 No. 4; July 1991). The review says that Compton's is
*very* touchy about its enviornment. A computer has to be configured >Just
So<…and after it's configured, it might not be able to run any other
software.
I think Compton's is just too touchy. Send it back. For the same money you
could but THREE copies of Grolier's Academic American!
