Dennis: The problem is that when you look at the floor, you see the tannish-yellow tile, the seams between the tiles – at least for the tiles close to the camera – and, as the distance increases you begin to see bright but irregular reflections in the same color as the lights. They seem to be caused by the fact that A) the tiles aren't really flat, and B) the floors are lit by a series of lights so there are a number of light source – floor – camera angles operating at once. On top of that you still have the "metapattern" problem – where you see large repeating patterns that come from repeating the tile over and over again.
