I finally figured out most of what you suggested. I've tried several
cables, several terminators, tried _not_ terminating, the ASPI driver is
loading prior to the CDROM driver and excluded the appropriate memory
address. The Adaptec card sees the NEC but doesn't recognize it as an NEC
CDR-74 during the INQUIRY ar boot-up. I can switch to drive E: but I still
get a CDR101- not ready reading message. Seems to be baffling techsupport
(NEC, Adaptec, and Corel) too.
Thanks for your help, and if you can think of anything else, please l;et me
know.
