>> I often like to engage in debate on various issues but I try not to dump my opinions on other people unless they have expressed an interest in debating (or just plain arguing.) I've also learned that it often times better not to know too much about the people you work with; >> I understand your point and feel that this discussion would have been to take place in the "Take 5/General" area of Asoft – if all we could discuss on Asoft was Autodesk software, I think it would be incredibly dull. I think this discussion would be considered OK in that section. I do think it was a debate, rather than an opinion dumping and if nobody was interested in debating then it would have died right away. Anyway, it'll probably die now, since we just needed somebody to say "enough is enough" and I think you did it, quite poignantly. Finally, I think it's quite possibly to like and respect somebody even though their opinions and political beliefs are polar opposites to your own – this is the case of many of the forum members. It'd be just too easy to talk to people who agree with you all the time. If this discussion isn't ready to die yet, perhaps a sysop could move it to the "Take 5/General" section, which is more of a "anything goes" section, I think. Then people looking for pure 3ds discussions could avoid it. PS: I'm not a Democrat or Republican since I can't vote in America – I'm actually an English Tory (least I was last time I voted).
