It won't do any good to increase your RAM; CHAOS doesn't care about anything other than the "640K" of base memory. The fact that the software "calls for 640KB" is pretty irrelevant — it's really just a warning that CHAOS will pig out on however much memory is available, and TSR's of various sorts will run the chance of eating up too much memory. But 600K is certainly plenty; when I developed it, I was running with about 510K free. And you've got plenty of disk space; that's not a problem either. Your only problem will be speed; CHAOS really likes 286's or better (there's some special code to do the Mandelbrots faster on a 286), and really likes a floating point processor (for speed, not for functionality). But if you're content with slowness, it will run just fine.
