Remember that the A4000 is the first Amiga from C= that uses IDE
drives. Well the A1200 counts too. Installing SCSI drives has always
been a snap for me with the Amiga. I tried once to install a Maxtor
245 MB drive on an Intel machine. It already had a Seacrate as the
master, so I wanted to make the new drive the master and the old one
the slave. Well, I could never get it to work, finally ended up
making the Maxtor the slave. So, you had trouble with Amiga IDE, I
had trouble with IBM-clone IDE. You bought an early A4000, with new
IDE controller, new AA chipset, etc. I am still waiting for the
problems to be resolved before I purchase any Amiga above series
3000/4000. Always willing to help if possible, give us a shout,
