Jerry, Like a poor marksman — you keep missing your target. I am not referring to the boot up problem, but rather the fun you had in the installation of your IDE drive. User's Guide – A4000 Page 3 "WARNING. INSTALLATION INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY. UNATHORIZED INSTALLATION, SERVICING OR UPGRADING _MAY_ VOID YOUR WARRANTIES. — I realize you consider yourself knowledgeable. But what experience have you had in working with Commodore hardware? Do you have the dealer tech-notes on the hardware? Do you know enough about the operating system to know when you have a software problem vs. a hardware problem? We both know the answer to this don't we? Of course we do. The answer is a plain flat NO, you don't have a clue. You have installed hard drives in PCs. Big deal. That doesn't 'qualify' you necessarily to be able to do it on another platform. Commodore provides documentaiton to the dealers in order to assist them in the installation or upgrading of products. Yep, there is a problem with _some_ A4000 motherboards with cold boot. We check each of our systems _before_ we ship them in order to avoid this problem. Not all A4000s have this trouble–mine doesn't. I wonder–did you mail order your A4000? Jerry, once again, I think it is fine for you to ask questions here. However, I will not tolerate you coming in here and trashing the Amiga just because you don't understand, or don't have a dealer to help you understand. If you ask me, you're part of the problem. Did you ever see the game Lemmings? Ya know.. the game where the beasts follow one another happily over the cliff? You go on 'believing' that the PC is better some how. I'll just keep playing that Lemmings music for ya! Wink-wonk..Wink-wonk… By the way.. you keep making refrences to my dealership and my ability to sell, etc. I do consider that fascinating. Did you happen to pick up a copy of Computer Pictures this month? You might also check with Commodore. You will find that I am also a registered Commodore developer. Just thought I would let you know, a sales droid I am not. You might be surprised what this 'hot shot' Amiga dealer is doing. -mark= Otto Pilot Engaged..
