James,
Glad that worked out so well.
Yup, the grabbing is great! I too considered a PAR, but with what I can do
here using the grabbing and SFR capabilities makes beating up the decks
worthwhile. Besides, I had a technician in to look at the 7750 the other day,
and he didn't even need to clean the heads (after >20K frames laid, to boot).
Adding a little sparkle effect to previously laid video when the framestores
are gone is a very simple process indeed. Running on twos, threes and even
fours for tests is great.
Have you tried out the 24fps playback rate yet? I'll never do film with this,
(I know, never say never) but just the concept of running the deck at that rate
is pretty cool.
Does the 1800 respond to the advance one frame command (< and >, I think)? I'm
thinking of upgrading to BetaSP when this current project is complete, and I'm
just wondering how the newer decks compare to the older ones. The cost is sure
better.
Anyway, really glad you got the bug fixed.
Regards,
Nate.
