Why I won't upgrade

around 3DS in many ways, 3DS still had more convenient and/or better ways of performing certain functions. Also, the good people at Autodesk are working their hardest to think of and provide as many terrific tools as they can manage given their resources, they're not going to think of everything, and they won't be able to provide everything they think of-it's really beyond their power to do so. With this in mind, I can hardly chastise them for not grabbing up all these routines that are getting written and providing them for little or no charge. We should be grateful that these third party developers exist! Andy PS. In an earlier post I mentioned that : <Most of my work is modeling, so all the new materials editor features and lighting were pretty meaningless to me. The most valuable addition to v.3 from my perspective was the ability to change the colors of the wireframe objects in the Editor AND, most importantly, access to Skin, Slice, and Displace> This is misleading beacause, well, it's misleading. I wrote it while trying to think of reasons why Autodesk should start giving away 3DS to the public, throwing it out of airplanes by the thousands and so on. In any case, 3DS3 had plenty of other stuff that all told certainly was worth the cost of the upgrade even though I haven't used the new renderer or Materials editor much.
