<<If I convert a true-color 640×480 sequence of TGAs into a true-color FLC, why must the program convert the palette to 256 colors?>> Gregory, The answer is in the question. The FLC format is 8 bit, thus there are only 256 colors possible at one time. To save in FLC format, it MUST convert to a 256 color palette. There is no True color FLC format from Autodesk. Someone (non-Autodesk) had worked on a 16 bit version, but it had limited success and is not very popular. 24 or 32 bit formats of FLIC files do not exist. -Brian
