Do you have any idea just how many nodes there are on the CIS network just here
in the states ??? And it's a little more than just plugging in another modem.
Upgrading the existing nodes is only one of the things they are doing. In
addition to this, they are adding continuously to the net, and new nodes are
going in at 28.8 V34. From what I understand, it takes about a week for a team
to upgrade a node and do all the tests.
In addition to this, the Chicago hub was upgraded to fiber optics just this
last year in anticipation of the new network speeds. They're also adding some
ISDN sites too. Chicago either has some already, or is scheduled to get some
this month. All you gotta do is convince the phone co to give you an ISDN
hookup……….<g>.
