Malcolm, about GPFax. I assume you have checked the autoanswer box on the options screen ? Also do not try and set autoanswer on the modem throught the init string (found in tooltypes in the GPFax icon), let GPFax do it for you. Also don't try and edit the init string from within the program (under environment if I recall correctly), it won't keep after you exit the program.
