Have you actually looked at a PAR displayed sphere rendered to 752X480 at 0.851
AR on your monitor? While I don't have a PVR, I doubt it has the option of
640×480 output which is 1.0 AR. It would seem likely that your monitor is out
of calibration. I do service work here for TV production companies and you'd
think these places would have calibrated equipment. Many do not.
Even my Sony 1344Q was out of calibration when I bought it. I had to do a
complete alignment after it arrived. Two of the adjustments I had to make was
height and vertical linearity.
