I am not really familiar with AmiTCP but, if the program is looking for the socket.library in say the `AmiTCP:libs/' directory and you copied it to `libs:' directory that could be the problem. Of course it could be the other way and should be in `libs:' not the `AmiTCP:libs/'. When you un-arced AmiTCP did it create a diretory structure? or just a lot of files? Be aware that typing ` assign ' at the prompt in a shell will give you all the assigns created for software to fine its home directory. Also if say some file should maybe be in `libs:' directory, but you don't know if you want to keep it(the software that is), you can use assign to an existing assing like the following assign libs: AmiTCP:libs add That would add that to the libs list so to speak, actually the system would also look for a library in that directory also before returning an error message about not finding it. Many different program(including the OS) rely on Assings to find their way home, this lets commands be seperate routines that are loaded into memory only when needed.
