Don: Well, I'm looking at a comparison of approx $12,000 vs $20,000. Outputting from the PAR and accessing Hi-8 acquisition footage will put my mixdown at 2nd Generation, that's pretty good. I wonder, considering the sources of my original footage, if BetaSP will make that much of a difference. The Pro Panasonic Line gives 7 Pin transfer, so deterioration will be minimal. If it is possible to make an approximate comparison, consider: A) Par output and Hi-8 to BetaSP, edited to mixdown finished tape and copies derived therefrom; B) Par output and Hi-8 to Pro S-VHS, edited to mixdown finished tape and copies derived therefrom. How do you think the two would compare? [If I have to go out and make these comparisons it's gonna be a real pain in the rear <LOL>. Sony is clever in offering the stripped down Beta-SP decks and charging a terrific amount of money to get at the features via RS-422 and remote box. Anyway, look forward to your comments. Jeffrey
