Well, if it is really a v.42bis modem then it does have MNP level 5 as that is part of the v.42bis standard. If there is some deception here, it could be that the add makes no mention of v.32 compatability, which means that the modem could use some priority handshacking protocal with V.42bis on top of it, which would mean that it would only work with other modems of the same brand/manufactuer. Also since no v.32 is mentioned it does not have to be a true full duplex modem. -Jason-
