Wayne, Valid points all. The bottom line, as I see it, is this. There are two classes of customers: those who are technical people (who would be comfortable, at a minimum, with opening up the cabinet and installing plug in cards, connecting and configuring peripherals, working at the shell level, etc.) and those who are not and need things done for them. The technical types will, for the most part, seek out the mail order houses to save the $$$'s, and go to local dealers if they have an immediate need or if the dealer has something the mail order shops can't handle (like the 1000 to 2000 upgrade). The nontechnical folks will go to the local dealer for everything unless the local dealer proves to be incompetent. At that point they will either find another dealer, or, if none is available, will begin to regret having purchased an Amiga in the first place. If I hadn't had a firm technical background, and the Amiga dealer that used to be in my neighborhood was the only one around, I would be VERY sorry I had purchased the darned thing. Pete
