If WordPerfect Amiga had compared favorably with the other available Amiga word processors in both price and quality, you would have had a good selling software package on your hands. Because your market ing researchers didn't have the brains to realize that Amiga users are just not going to pay the kind of money WP wanted for a fair to good Word Processor. They would rather spend about half the dough and get a better Word Processor. You would have had a better profit on the product if you had realized the market you were getting yourself into and priced it accordingly. Also, it would have been nice if you had realized the computer you were writing it for and used the outstanding capabilities it offered you, instead of ignoring them and writing a clone of the PC version. You're developing for the NeXT? What kind of installed user base does that have? 60,000 machines? Less? More? Definitely no where even close to 3,000,000 and growing. Of course anyone stupid enough to buy the overpriced NeXT would be willing to shell out at least $500 for a word processor. Most Amiga users just aren't. Maybe WordPerfect should look at releasing WP5, scaled down, yet productive, at a lower, more realistic price in tune with the other software available for the Amiga.
