<<FYI, the Electronic Theater accepts only a tiny fraction of their material from non-workstation-based work.>> Who gets to decide what is accepted and what isn't? Silicion Graphics and Co. <<Typically, the ET is used to showcase the latest technological advancements in the business, and there's quite a bit of workstation snobbery in their acceptance process.>> That's too bad, since I consider the result to be more important than how it is made. I believe that 3DS provides the tools to create truely artistic and intersting works. For the ET to reject something straight out because it didn't come from a workstation is pathetic. Too bad, let them waste their money on workstations while we produce similar if not better works with less money, thanks to 3DS. I don't mind, the money I save means I get to go on holidays while they stay home. 😉 <<Note that the ET rejects are generally even more interesting than the ET, and those are shown in the Video Review rooms during Siggraph. It's always extremely valuable to sit through a few hours of that stuff.>> That sounds more appealling to me. Many of the best movies are those not designed for the mass market. Computer animations, more than any other, allow for a very wide variety of works from people with humble tools. David "ET go home" Gould
