The HD Drives are *not* a product yet available to dealers from Commodore.
I am a direct Commodore dealership–I get their product listings all of
the time. At this time, in the United States anyway, there is no such
product as the HD drive for the Amiga.
It was not until the A4000 that there was one promised to be shipped in
each machine. We did have several 3000s and 3000Ts that came with this
drive. It was rather random, and according to one Commodore official all
HD drives shipped were a mistake.
So, if these drives are being sold it would be my guess that the
individual selling them is getting them out of machines.
