Peter,
You _may_ be more successful if you compile, in addition to the list of
names, the hardware configuration of the folks who are clamboring for the
product. How many of these people have "equivalent hardware" to the
machine requirements for the MS-DOS version? I don't know what Falcon 3.0
requires on the PC (I'm not at all into flight sims myself), but do know
that it requires more than an XT clone. Does it require a '386-class
machine? Does it require "expanded memory" or will it run on a 640K
machine? Does it require a hard disk? This is one of the big problems
(speaking from personal experience) for game developers creating games for
multiple platforms – what is the "base" machine that my game will run on.
In the PeeCee market, this is less of a problem because the numbers are
such that such ventures can still be profitable if the low-end machines
cannot run the product. In the Amiga market, I don't think this is true
(yet). And in the Amiga market, the "base" machine is still a 68000-based
computer with 1 meg of RAM and 2 floppy drives. It's a tight fit (at
best) for most current PC games!
Good luck in your efforts, tho.
