I just installed a NEC CDR-74. The installation process puts the driver first in CONFIG.SYS and MSCDEX first in AUTOEXEC.BAT. The NEC insturctions emphasize the importance of this. Unfortunately, both consume a good bit of conventional memory. There is not enough left to run some of the CD disks, WordPerfect, or various other programs I must use. Is there anyway to load MSCDEX in high memory (or UMB), or to have it use extended memory or expanded memory? Help would be appreciated.
