I just installed a NEC CDR-74. The installation process puts the driver
first in CONFIG.SYS and MSCDEX first in AUTOEXEC.BAT. The NEC insturctions
emphasize the importance of this.
Unfortunately, both consume a good bit of conventional memory. There is not
enough left to run some of the CD disks, WordPerfect, or various other
programs I must use. Is there anyway to load MSCDEX in high memory (or
UMB), or to have it use extended memory or expanded memory?
Help would be appreciated.
Check file LASER3.TXT in the library here. It has everything you should
need about loading and configuring drivers, including getting MSCDEX high.
Good Luck!
