Can I jump in here with some of my own troubles? I have the same drive and it worked fine for about six months and then just sort of faded away. It started by not reading certain discs. Sometimes booting with the disc in the drive would solve the problem but after awhile it would read fewer and fewer discs. At this point it won't read any discs, ROM or audio. The GVP software I use reports the drive as there but won't read a disc in the drive. One thing I noticed is that when a disc is inserted the drive light blinks a few times and then stays on steady. When the drive worked it would blink and then go out unless it was reading from the disc. Anybody have a clue as to what could cause this? Could the drive need cleaning?
