If you boot the machine and select DOS, that's exactly what you get. In fact, you won't even see the NT stuff as it lies on a separate hard disk partition (provided you installed it in its default configuration). No portion of NT is loaded and as far as you're concern, you don't even know you have NT until you boot and select NT. You basically have two totally different operating systems on your hard disk and the ability to select what you want to boot. Note that Win95.99987351 does not "emulate" dos. As of today (I don't know what they will do in the next 4 years 'till they ship the thing) Win95 is just a biffed-up version of Windows for Workgroups. It sits on top of DOS just like today's version. There are many differences but mostly cosmetics. When it comes to core system, it's basically the same. The "DOS" sitting down below (they are probably going to release it alone as DOS 7) has the same structure and same behaviors. In fact, you can still make up your own config.sys and autoexec.bat, load QEMM and do everything you do with 3.1. Again, this can all change as this is way too early in the game.
