They can take 'tar' format, but is there a restriction on the kind of
filenames they allow? If you saw the start of this thread, I'd like to
allow a few Amiga-like, non-ISO names in certain sub-directories, with
longer than DOS filenames and mixed upper- and lower-case.
As for a PC 'tar', there's a great one in the Unix Forum here on
Compuserve. It uses the ASPI standard for accessing a SCSI adapter. Look
for "ASPITAPE.ZIP" or "ASPITAPE.EXE".
