Albert, I agree with you regarding the mainstream press in this country. I've had first hand experience with thier inaccuracies regarding reporting in the past. I won't elaborate but the press certainly does have an agenda and it is mainly liberal. One could argue whether it is by design or because of similar "educational" experiences. However the bottom line is the mainstream press is more than 10 degrees to the Left on most issues. See my new Book soon to be released: Titled "10 Degrees of Emotion". <BG> Seriously though, I'm not concerned about the Mainstream press because they are becoming less and less a factor. We are in fact helping to make this so, we are talking about these types of issues on CompuServe and Internet person to person without the "benifit" of having this information "Filtered" for us by the MainStream Press. We are also taking part in the Information revolution that is allowing more people more choices as to how and where they are getting their information from. This is very good! Those sources that show themselves to be inaccurate or overly biased will either be accepted or rejected by all thinking individuals. "Some times you need the loyal opposition to point out as a bad example." In other words to paraphrase a two thousand year old quote, "The truth Shall set Us Free". The Press in General know it's almost all over for them as far as being able to control the perceptions in this country. As more sources of information become available to more people even the mainstream press will be forced in to truthfully representing events, "Facts" as it were. I know about how facts can be manipulated, in a former life I worked for Army Security Agency and what I know about the manipulation of facts regarding the 60's and 70's can fill volumes, however other writers with much greater talent have written about these things and they have almost become forgotten by the present generation. I would've been concerned but…. You ask the present generation who Tim Leary or Abby Hoffmann was and they can't tell you, however they can tell you how to get on the internet and Compuserve and what forums interest them. As we all continue to get connected to each other I beleive that on a person to person basis we will become more tolerant as well as "educated" to the similarities as well as the so-called differences between all peoples. I'm afraid I'm going on too long about this and that we should probably take this to the Take 5 forum before we overstay our welcome here.
