Ditto the other David's suggestion of using either QEMM or something
like RAMBIOS.SYS that probably came with the drivers for your video
card (ATI Graphics Ultra Pro?). I have a Gateway 4DX2-66V — but I
will tell you that I have a considerable sync-up time when I switch
video modes (esp to and from the mat-ed), and I'm using QEMM. I
never really noticed if it exhibited this before I'd disabled the
hardware shadow. Generally, this is just a function of the video card
and monitor. I've learned to live with it, though I really miss my
NEC 4D (I'm using a 17" Idek right now) — the 4D had digital memory
and always seemed to sync up really fast.
