In the past several months I have had to crank out quite a bit of rendering so
I spent some time tweaking MY setup for performance that made a difference.
Some of what I did was strictly hardware, i.e. cache disk ctrl with built in
SCSI drivers, video boards with built in drivers etc. It sure does save on
base ram.
I also appreciate the report on the Liquid speed. I'm keeping an eye out for
forum comments as I just might spend the money for it some day but the price I
saw was pretty high. I have learned how to be productive with box mode and
single screen so I only saw L.S. as a good way to get lazy by always using full
draw and 4 view modes all the time. In that mode I think it would definitly
pay off but with my current practices I consider it a luxury I can do without
for the time being. I have this thing of saving right now for a PVW2800,
ATVista, and Non linear editing stuff so I put all upgrades and luxury
utilities aside for the next six months so I could start saving $.
