I think that an edit controller that is A & B roll capable, works with
the 5 pin Panasonic and the 5 pin Sony VTRs and had one maybe two
GPIs would be a big seller. If you are going to choose only one VTR
to support the Panasonic units have to get the nod, the AG 1830, thru
the AG 1970 have to be the most popular Semi-Pro VTRs on the market
and they all use the same 5 pin controller. Forget about time code,
espically with the Panasonic units and keep things simple and low
costs.
FutureVideo has done well targeting this market and thier product is
pretty weak and expensive. I own one, but am looking for an alternative!
