Eugene, eh? Too bad you weren't a little closer to Portland. I just started up a user group here and it looks like the first meeting is going to be pretty full. Then again, if you are willing to make the drive, let me know and I will foward the directions. My two cents: We generally work out a flat fee based on materials, rendering time, and how many hours it will take us to do something, and then double it. We generally bill between 35-45/hour for 3ds work, depending on how skilled we are at whatever the project might entail.
