Storyboard software
re: Needing some sort of storyboarding software.
I have never used any, but have a hard time thinking how it might be of any
use. Pencils are so much faster as a rule for that kind of thing.
Not an answer, but maybe a solution that you hadn't thought of…
One thing that I have used to effect in designing an animation is DeluxePaint
Animate (or whatever it's called). I had many years experience on DP, so I
could draw very effectively with it and the animation features of DPA allowed
me to test motion and timing ideas. General thumbnail/storyboard kind of stuff.
Nothing formal mind you, but in the end I did produce a final tape that closely
resembled the 2d drawn animation.
I am not familiar enough with Autodesk Animator, but it is a similar program
and might do the job just as well. I think there may also be benefits for
getting dxf data into AA.
