I'll jump in on this one, too. What is going on the the architectual education community to study and devise ways to use computers effectively? From my experience, architects are trying very hard to make the computer become an expensive pencil and there isn't much discussion on how to utilize the technology in new and comprehensive ways. If architects could use the computer to first develop massing/design studies. Then, pass that information in a usable form to the process of 3D working drawings and, finally, pull 2D information and specifications where necessary, the step of visualization would fit in nicely. A whole new way of approaching a project is necessary and architects today are caught in the transition. Any ideas on what is being done or what should be done in the education process?
